The Virtual Writers' Conference is coming!

Please mark your calendar. The Virtual Writers' Conference will be held at this blog May 19-22, 2009. I'll be welcoming a number of authors, publishers, marketers and publicists who will help you in every phase of writing, publishing and promoting your books. Details will be forthcoming as guests are scheduled. If you'd like to be a part of the Virtual Writers' Conference, please let me know either by leaving a comment or by sending me a Tweet. 1. Hi Gayle,

It sounds interesting :). I had a question: I work out of town every Tuesday and Thursday. Are there certain times I'd have to be on-line for your conference? And also, what's the cost?

    Ruth Hartman

  2. No, Ruth. You can access the blog anytime. The posts are to be scheduled ahead of time so that the blog will be updated many times throughout the four-day period. The conference is still in the planning stages, so an open-mike night might be cool where participants could ask questions of the experts, etc. I'll keep the site updated as to the schedules when I have them. There is no cost. The hope is that since no one will have to travel to attend the conference or pay for the conference itself, they will be more open to buying books/services from the bloggers--or even requesting our books from their local libraries.

    Thanks, Ruth!

  3. Gayle,

I'll be happy to contribute some editing tips.

  4. Gayle, if we want to attend, do we have to sign up anywhere?

  5. I'd be happy to contribute some articles on the craft of writing. I have plenty on my blog, or I could writing something fresh if you're looking for something specific.

  6. No, Maggie, you don't have to sign up anywhere. Just mark the dates and URL on your calendar. Also, check back here or follow the blog so you'll be sure to get updates.

Tabitha, I'd love for you to contribute an article or two. You can submit something you've already done, or do something new. Either way is fine.

    Thanks to both of you!

  7. Hi, Gayle. I found out about your conference from my friend Marian Allen. I'm a freelance journalist and opinion columnist (Guerilla Mothering). If you'd be interested in having someone like me, I'd be happy to participate.

I'm working on a novel, myself...looking forward to hearing from your agent participants.

Tweet me (lmharmon) if you'd like!

  8. Hi Gayle, I just found out about the virtual conference. Is it too late to participate? I'm a mystery author, paranormal mystery/romance author and we know each other from a past conference, which you sponsored. I'm not sure how this will work, but it sounds interesting. You can e mail me at with details if you want.

  9. I'm in to participate in the conference. I've published 5 books and am on The Great Agent Hunt.
